The true healer –
Why you should attend a Soundbath

On a monthly basis, Renu, from a Soul Abundance runs a Soundbath & Cacao ceremony for The Feel Good Project. I have been fortunate to attend every one of the sessions and can hand on my heart say its been a game changer for me.
Each and every one of us carries our own emotional baggage, pains and tension. However big or small our problems, the more we carry, the heavier the load becomes. Soundbaths provide a holistic approach to healing, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellbeing. By inducing a state of deep relaxation and using sound vibrations to harmonise the body’s energy, Soundbaths promote stress reduction, mental clarity, emotional release, and improved sleep. This immersive experience fosters a deeper connection between mind and body, facilitating healing on multiple levels and enhancing overall quality of life. Whether you’re seeking relief from stress, pain, or simply a moment of tranquility, Soundbaths offer a powerful tool for self-care and healing.
Whats more, the entire process requires us to lie down and get cozy so no effort even has to go into the process!!
What’s involved in a session?
If you’re attending a standard Soundbath the chances are you’ll experience the following:
– Getting nice and snug on a yoga mat
– Exposure to a series of different sounds & instruments played by a practitioner
The getting nice and snug part is just as important to the healing process as the sound and instruments. That’s why good practitioners will spend time getting your mind and body to completely surrender to relaxation. Practises they may use:
– Breathwork
– Drinking ceremonial cacao
– Pre sound healing movement
– The use of props and blankets
– Aromatherapy
Sessions will vary in length but expect the Sound Healing to take up to an hour. If other practice techniques are used then the session will likely be around 2 hours.
After the sound healing, the practitioner will get you to sit comfortably upright and drink plenty of water. Emotions can be brought to the surface meaning it’s completely natural to feel teary. A good practitioner will create a comfortable environment to allow you to share your experiences.

What about the science behind it?
Sound has a profound impact on us at the most fundamental level. Research has shown that sound consists of vibrations that deeply affect us on a cellular level, influencing the function of our brains, nerves, muscles, and organs.
Consider the sharp sound of nails scraping against a chalkboard, which instantly sends shivers down our spine, or the sudden crash of thunder that startles us into a state of heightened alertness. Conversely, the gentle rhythm of ocean waves lulls us into a state of tranquility, while the melodious tones of a chime can uplift our mood. These reactions are not just psychological; they involve intricate neural, physiological, and biochemical responses within our bodies as we synchronise with the vibrations of the sound.
If you were to attend a Soundbath with Renu, she aims to recreate a series of sounds that’ll create different responses with us. By strategically utilising various instruments and frequencies, the sound healing aims to harmonise our internal rhythms, restore balance, and thus promote overall well-being.
